Over three combined decades of depletions feeds, ERP migrations, and distributor spreadsheets does that to you. DataBacon doesn’t come from an investment firm’s or tech company's idea of what suppliers need. It's what happens when the people who spent their careers unraveling the wholesale data mess by hand finally got burned out frying up the fix one client at a time.
Wholesale data shouldn't be complicated, but the wrong platform and the wrong partner can make it that way. Where invoice-first tools start from the wrong end of the problem and expensive consulting builds leave you staffing the heavy lifting yourself, DataBacon stands apart with real beverage alcohol expertise, a depletion-first foundation, and a platform that's already built instead of promised.
We don't hand you a database and disappear. We've spent years in this industry, and our clients will tell you we're still the first call they make when the numbers stop adding up.
Every consulting engagement we ever ran started a similar way. A supplier would call us in a panic because their reports didn’t reconcile, their analytics were missing, a pricing spreadsheet had eight versions, nobody trusted the numbers, and everyone from finance to sales to operations executives were flying blind.
We'd spend months untangling data from their ERP, inventory, depletions, and a graveyard of Excel tabs, then hand them a clean data foundation, and get a call from the next supplier with the exact same problem.
That's a fine way to run a consultancy. It's a terrible way to fix the industry. So, we stopped doing it one client at a time and put the whole thing into a platform instead. Same expertise, same fixes, minus the unpredictable costs and the six-month+ wait.
Andrew Ridling
Co-Founder
Napa, CA
Andrew Ridling has spent more than 20 years solving data and technology problems within the wine industry, long enough to know that the numbers rarely arrive as neatly as everyone would like.
His perspective comes from working on both sides of the equation. Andrew began as the IT Director for a prominent Napa Valley winery, where he managed the systems and wholesale-data challenges suppliers encounter every day. He later spent a decade consulting directly with beverage alcohol companies, helping them bring greater accuracy, structure, and visibility to their data.
That firsthand experience helped inspire DataBacon. Andrew understands where supplier data breaks down, why conventional solutions fall short, and what businesses need to see the full story behind their sales, pricing, and distributor performance.
Mark Molner
Co-Founder
Charlotte, NC
Mark Molner knows that having more data doesn’t necessarily mean having better answers. After more than a decade working with wineries and beverage alcohol suppliers, he has developed a particular talent for turning complicated wholesale data into information people can actually understand and act on.
Before co-founding DataBacon, Mark worked as a technical consultant and Director of Customer Success, helping clients navigate everything from pricing and distributor management to analytics and data strategy. He understands both the technical details behind the numbers and the real-world business decisions riding on them.
Equal parts data nerd and people person, Mark is happiest when he can take something buried in a spreadsheet and make it clear, useful, and considerably less intimidating.
